Throughout my entire childhood, I had always looked up to my Grandfather. My Grandfather, AKA my "Pop" was not only my hero but he also was the king when it came to coming up with nicknames. "CHICK" was a loving pet name that my Pop would always use when talking to my Grammie. I would always hear him say "Hey Chick, can I have some of that?" or "Hey Chick, what do you think of this?" when referring to my grandmother. When I began to build my own brand, I knew I had to use the name "Hey Chick"! The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "Chick" as a woman or a girl. The Urban Dictionary defines "Chick" as - the nicest way to refer to a female.

Michelle Gilbert is a fashion executive with more than 10 years experience in the industry. Prior to starting HEY CHICK, Michelle lived in NYC making a name for herself working in wholesale luxury brands like Salvatore Ferragamo, Emilio Pucci, Maxmara and most recently Bottega Venetta. She has a striking range of experience in fashion, specializing in wholesale and working closely with nearly every area the industry has to offer. Including merchandising, retail, visual, and public relations. Her wholesale clients throughout America's included Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Berneys, Saks 5th Avenue, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Holt along with countless stores.
